After one week of finals, tension and tiredness went away. We went on a well-deserved outing to a bowling alley. Only a couple of students and teachers had been bowling before. For most of them it was the first time. We could feel the excitement in the air.
The week after finals, we started practicing the play, three songs, a dance, a presentation by the students and a video with memorable events of the year.
These two weeks of practice were intense, but ended on 30th August with a wonderful evening including friends and parents.
I was really impressed by how fast the students memorized their dialogues and especially by those who had trouble with pronunciation and comprehension at the beginning of the year. The students really outdid themselves, and the result was excellent. Everyone had a great time. Here are some photos and videos.
We then had ten days off and started back the second week of September with the 10-weeks foundation course for the new students. This course prepares the student before the start of the new school year beginning in December.
We also helped move the school and started teaching at the new address. This new place is really great. Even though it is less accessible than the previous one, it is in better shape with a nice space outside where we can eat. It’s a twenty-minute walk, quite close, but the neighbourhood that we go through is so different that we feel as if we were in another city, it’s quite astonishing.
